Since the introduction of our CARTONMASTER machine in the die cutting industry in 1970, Asahi Machinery has sold about 1500 cardboard cutting, carton-making, and gluing machines by devoting ourselves to research and development as a technology-oriented corporation. We are committed to improving productivity exactly and quickly.

Asahi Machinery Ltd. was established in December 1917 as a subsidiary of Oji Paper Co., Ltd. It was Japan's first company specializing in the manufacture of paper handling machinery. Since then, we contributed greatly to the development of Japanese industry by delivering a variety of specialized paper machines for Japanese banknotes, stock and bond certificates, and cigarette paper. Taking advantage of our experience and expertise that we had accumulated through the manufacture of paper machinery, we advanced into the cardboard cutting machine field in 1966 and completed the first CARTONMASTER unit, an automatic platen die cutting machine, in June 1970. We introduced the machine to the market in August of the same year.

We have been delivering lots of excellent high-speed automatic platen die cutting machines that feature high accuracy, great durability for carton making applications. In particular, our gripper and spike type die cutting machines offer stable operation and excellent controllability, and they are widely accepted as the optimal machine for high productivity and labor-savings in the carton making industry where small batches of different products need to be produced in a short period of time. Our gripper and spike type die cutting machines now hold the No. 1 market share and sales position in Japan.
